Love ever endures
“I sculpted this piece using my parents as models. When I asked them to sit down and get comfortable, they just seemed to fit together so perfectly. It was such a self-directed pose, as though they’ve been doing it for years — and they have! They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in 2011. The carving on the back is a little added discovery …. ‘I love thee’. I like the sound of the word ‘thee’. It feels poetic and intimate to me." –Susan Lordi
A wedding, anniversary or Valentine’s Day gift that expresses love and caring. Works well in Family Groupings.

Our Story
Willow Tree sculptural art forms beautifully express love, closeness, healing, courage, hope… all the emotions of a life well lived. Artist Susan Lordi hand carves the original of each figure from her studio in Kansas City Missouri. Pieces are cast from her original carvings, and individually painted by hand. Expression is revealed through gestures only… a tilt of the head, placement of the hands, a turn of the body. The simplicity of form and absence of facial features signify Willow Tree. It is Susan’s hope that these pieces be meaningful to both giver and receiver.

My husband and I recently celebrated our 48th anniversary while on a camping trip with my best friend, her husband, and great grandson. She has been my best friend for more than 56 years. She surprised us with a gift, which was the anniversary figurine. We love it! She said we're an inspiration because of the many years we've been happily married. This figurine beautifully portrays devotion, closeness, caring, and the love in a committed relationship. I will always think of our anniversary, and remember our friends, and this special trip we shared, when I look at the figurine. It's very special to us..

I bought this piece for my 92 year old parents . It is to represent the love and care that my Dad has given to my Mom as she suffers with the beginning stages of dementia.

Today I received my order from Willow Tree. These angels have always had special meaning for me. I strongly believe angels are everywhere and always with us. Last year, 2014, I lost both of my parents. It was tragic and a lot to handle. My three young sons and I have had a hard time moving forward but with help from the angels we have managed. I put these 4 pieces together because they represent my family perfectly. I have 3 sons, one is a red head, one is a blonde and the other has dark brown hair - just like the 3 sons in this compilation. We have a dog who looks just like this one also. So with the addition of my parents - Anniversary - my husband and myself. Our entire family will be together forever.

George and I met when I was 15. I had a huge crush on him. However, he was much older than me and I knew my parents would never give us permission to date. Over the years I carried a small torch for him. He always had a ready smile and an engaging personality. Twenty five years later we finally were at places in our lives where we could offer ourselves to each other. George purchased this for me for our first anniversary of dating. It fit because he already has salt and pepper hair and mine is still blonde. We saw ourselves in this piece because we have endured so much in our first year. We saw my son go into the service, survived a four day robbery of my home and new grandchildren born to his children. We know that as long as our love endures we will have many more anniversaries, but this one will always be special to me and I will be reminded every time I look at this figure on our bedroom bookshelf. May you be blessed and prosper in your life, and thank you for allowing us to be part of your customer family. I also look forward to more figures to purchase our children and grandchildren over the years to come.

My husband and I have only been married for a little over a year, but we look forward to the rest of our lives together. He is 19 years older than I, so the "graying hair" for him suits how we might look together. Even though we only have celebrated one wonderful year together so far, I love having this piece in our home! Thank you for making such heartfelt pieces for us to enjoy. I have many of them, and smile at each one.
