“I wanted to capture the time when a tween and her mother develop little traditions and rituals together – before activities and friends take center focus. I carved movement into their gesture so it appears they are walking together, then pausing to engage, maybe share a little inside joke… It’s a time when a daughter thrives on her mom’s attention and wants to tell her everything. Her personality is forming, and their relationship shifts. They are mother and daughter, but also close friends. It’s really about the time spent together—not the activity—that is so precious, and enriches their ongoing relationship.” –Susan Lordi
