Hold dear the promise of love

“I carved this piece so that it could be viewed ‘in the round’. You get a different understanding depending on how you turn the piece. If you view from the side where you can see the man and woman's arms around each other, it looks like they're kissing. If you turn it and view it from where you can see their faces and clasped hands, it looks like they're dancing — and it's a totally different piece. I like this duality of interpretation.”

When I stumbled across my first Willow Tree sculpture, It knocked me on my heels. I was trying to figure out how to share a feeling that a card or my tongue twisted ways would not suffice. We are blessed without need for more "stuff", so special occasions are spent on travel, handwritten love notes and from me - a Willow Tree. Heather now has over a dozen and people always comment on how much those simple sculptures look like us. I can see God in your work. Thank you. Chris

For our 57th Wedding Anniversary, my husband surprised me with the Willow Tree piece, Promise. His note to me said, "We've been dancing for 57 years. Sometimes we step on each others toes, but we just keep on dancing." To me, that said 'Love' and a 'Promise' for our life together. Truly melted my heart!

It is Dec. 19th, my 30 year wedding anniversary. Last year at this time I was in the hospital and spent nearly 2 months there fighting for my life. My husband was right by my side and gave me encouragement and hope. I have intestinal problems and this is my third time in the hospital since we've been married. Not fun! My husband has always slept in a chair and taken over the nurses' jobs. Before we were married I broke off our relationship several times. But he always remained my friend. He genuinely cared about me and even lined me up with a really nice guy he thought I would like. He fixed my car and even posed as my cousin once when I had another boy with me. He always just wanted my happiness. "The Promise" is a perfect depiction of his love and devotion to me over the years. He has always promised to be by me through thick and thin. I love him so much and this gift means a lot to me. Thank you for creating it!

    Promise

Submitted by Brian Sankarsingh in Ontario, November 2016

I fell in love with my wife when we were but teenagers; I remember promising to love her forever. We got married in 1994 and in 1997 we found out we were pregnant. My joy knew no bounds and to commemorate the love that we shared, the promises that we kept for so many years I purchased this piece. It came with us as we moved from Western to Eastern Canada. It came with us when we moved from one city to another. Then two days ago, I accidentally hit it and it fell to the ground. The heads broke apart and as it lay shattered on the ground I felt that my heart broke along with it. My daughter seeing the look on my face suggested we could glue it back together; I wanted to cry and laugh at the same time. The very next night, I was sitting on my tablet when a notification came up on my screen telling me that someone had something to sell on a Facebook site I belong to. When I clicked on it, I saw someone was selling their unopened figurine. My wife and I sat in shock as I messaged the person telling them I wanted to buy the figurine. Today as I picked up our new Promise, I told the couple that they were now part of our story and the coincidence of how one Promise accidentally broken led to a new Promise being fulfilled in our lives will be told for many years to come. I am thankful to your Muse for stirring within you the desire to create this piece that has woven its way, twice now, into the fabric of our lives.

I will be gifting Promise to my mother this Christmas, in memory of my late father to celebrate their 20th anniversary. It was in the summer, but I couldn't afford it then. However, I think she would appreciate it now as she is entering into a job and part of her life. They always loved to dance and dance all night. It's all she ever tells me that she missed most about him. I hope that she will enjoy it and it will allow her to keep him alive in her memory.

Hi! Our favorite is "Promise". I feel this figurine represents my husband and I, loving each other, dancing together in our lives, comforting each other, protecting each other. We got married in April 2015, making the promise to love and support each other for the rest of our lives. It's truly difficult to choose only one Willow Tree piece by the way! Each one could represent something for me/for us!

My favorite piece is the one that started it all for my collection: Promise. "Hold dear the promise of love". This rings so true, because I got this piece at my bridal shower from my Mom and Dad and since then, he has passed away. It is such a cherished keepsake and has launched my love of Willow Tree angels and figurines. My favorite out of my Mom's collection is the Hero figurine..."Hero, we honor thee, keeping safe your memory". That saying hit very hard after the 3 point flag was handed to our family in honor of my Dad!

One of my favorite pieces is "Promise". I had a stroke in 2007 while my husband was deployed to Iraq. He came home from a war zone to take care of me and our 2 girls. He didn't have time to process being safe at home and even though he struggled for a while, he took great care of me, never leaving my side. He helped me learn how to walk again and talk again. A few years later I had to have a full hysterectomy. It seemed after my stroke I became sicker and sicker having to have surgery after surgery being diagnosed with cancer, almost dying from bleeding out, having blood transfusions. My husband never broke his promise of loving me through sickness or in health. I recently (2 weeks ago) had to have more of my stomach and bowels removed to check for more cancer. My husband has to deploy again before I am completely healed. He is worried, so am I, but I will keep my promise to him to be strong while he is gone and to be right here waiting on his return. We live in Kansas, USA.

My favorite Willowtree sculpture is "Promise". It was not only my first Willowtree, but I bought it to symbolise my relationship with the most amazing man a woman could ask for. He showed me that I could find love again after an abusive marriage. It symbolises our promise to each other to always be honest, faithful, gentle and loving towards each other. It also symbolises his promise of protection over me physically and emotionally. And when we get married this piece will be on our special cake as a reminder of the promises we have made to each other from the day we met.....to love unconditionally and with all we are

I have so many I love but Promise is my absolute favorite. I'm a newlywed as of April 29th of this year. I have a terminal illness and obviously wasn't looking for the "One". Who would want to be with someone who's sick. Strange thing is, my Husband also has a life threatening illness as well. We had fallen in love before each other shared this with one another. It never scared me, nor did it him. I don't believe anything is ever coincidental in Life. It was meant to be. He is my best friend above anything and i am Blessed to know wgo he is and to be his wife. The Musical version of this piece plays Canon D, my wedding walk to him on that day. Thank you for creating this!

My Ddsabled husband and I received the Promise piece a few days after he took a serious turn for worse. He has come back a little bit but he is severely disabled. My sister wrote down: "This piece (Promise) does have a special meaning. It is a gift to two people who have been married for 46 years. They have lived by their wedding vows-in sickness and health. The husband became ill 7 years ago and the wife has cared for him the whole time. The Promise piece was given to them on July 28, 2016 because he worsened a few days before that. By the grace of God who heard our prayers, the husband is doing better today. The country song "Jesus Take the Wheel" was heard on the day he worsened. That was a favorite song of his". Amen! My boyfriend, Aaron's gift when he visited me in the Philippines last January was the piece "Together" . I loved that he gave it to me for it says, "To those who found their true partner in love and life." We agreed that once we're together we'll start collecting pieces based on where we are and what we have in life. But I couldn't wait. I got him this piece as a surprise for our second anniversary because what it signifies is true. The waiting maybe torturous because it's difficult to be away from the one that you love. But we have committed ourselves to the promise that no matter what, we'll be together to 150 and beyond. This piece will always remind us of that promise. Thank you for this beautiful piece.

My story began in November 2012 when I met the man who is now my precious husband. I had been a single mother of two children for over 15 years and was 45 when we met. We began dating and were engaged in September 2013 and got married on 2/8/2014. I prayed for years for God to provide a husband who would above all have patience as I have a son who has severe ADHD with comprehension issues and struggles with change. God brought me Jeff who was and is more than I ever prayed for. He is the most loving man to me and my children. On our one year anniversary, he presented me with a beautifully wrapped gift and card. When I opened the gift, I found the Willow Tree statue of a man and woman standing and embracing. I was so shocked because this was a statue that I had looked at while we were Christmas shopping but never told him I wanted it. He has always kept notice of the things I like without me knowing and he did it again with this one year anniversary gift which means so much because it represents the peace and promise I have in my husband.

I bought "the Promise" because this past year 2014 has been tough on my husband and me. He had a heart attack and it's been a change in our lives and our family. We are still struggling with his health and he was only 48 when it happened. We had no clue that this was going to change our lives forever. I look at it in hopes that he can dance with me, and be happy again. God has been there for us and our church family . It's been awesome. Everyone has helped us . I know God has a plan for us. I am looking forward to see what that will be. But we look at life differently now, one day at a time. I know God is going to heal him In his time. The word promise means a lot to me because it gives me hope for a future with my husband. It's what I live for.

We celebrated our 34th wedding anniversary on August 1st and the next day, my husband had to return to WY while I stayed behind. While out getting more supplies for the house, I came across the "Promise" figurine and got goosebumps up my arms. My wife and I have been married for thirty-five years and counting. We have raised two daughters to adulthood, and now are the grandparents of five. In 2006, my wife was twenty years into her career as a Registered Nurse and Nursing Manager, when she was struck down by M.S. Paralyzed from the waist down, she was months in the hospital, and recovery. I don't remember where I first saw "Promise," but I remember how affected I was by it. The deep love my wife and I both share was so skillfully represented in that piece, that it perfectly expressed my sense of "oneness" with my wife, and I had no question that she felt then, and still feels today, the same. Purchasing it as a gift for her was not a difficult choice at all. Through the years, we have purchased for each other, additional pieces, that also speak so eloquently by their design, the essence of deep commitment. The faceless representation is a further blessing, since it allows the viewer to super-impose themselves into the work being viewed. The tears we have shared together, as our hearts felt the same tug from these pieces, are constant reminders of the depth of true love, and the trust between two people that comes from complete and unlimited commitment. Thanks to all those who come up with the ideas for these designs and are part of the construction process. Clearly there are others who understand fully, the depth of "love" itself.

I used to believe that my life was wonderful: I graduated from the best university in the UK, I got a decent job when I came back my own country and I quick fell in love with the right one and got married, we had a wonderful daughter two years later. All of these were just like miracle. Two months ago, my dream was broken. That night, my husband told me that he had been keeping a relationship with another woman who offered her love and care to him when he broke up with his first girlfriend many years ago. The woman was a single mother, with a teenage boy. It seemed that she had been suffering from one unhappy love experience and devoted herself completely to my husband. They met four years before I showed up. She took total care of his domestic issues like helping him preparing the application document, decorating the new department. I could imagine that she had well prepared to marry him and mentally depended on him. If I didn't meet my husband, they might have stayed together. I was furious when I first learned all of this from my husband but, I forgave him. My husband was so regretful that he didn't refuse her at the beginning which led to this miserable result, hurting me. He is in a dilemma, one side he doesn't want to give up our family, me and our daughter (neither do I), the other side he thought that woman was also his responsibility. While, I don't want to give him up and would like to face the difficulty with him together. What I can do is to support him and tell him the family is still here, wanting him back. Also, I start my journey to be a Christian as I know that I am so weak and powerless to face and solve these problem. Only with the help from God, we could pass through all toughness and reach happiness.

    The Quilt

Submitted by Maura /Clu Gallagher in Trafford Pennsylvania, January 2014

I received 'The Quilt' as a present from my youngest daughter this Christmas 2013. I was thrilled with it and I knew immediately why she had selected it. I had been Elementary Art teacher in the Pittsburgh Public Schools for almost twenty eight years when, in 2001, I had become ill with Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. My health deteriorated to the point that I became disabled and never returned to the classroom. I sought medical treatment from a whole host of specialists but the pain, exhaustion, mental fatigue, depression and anxiety continued. In 2007, I sat down at my keyboard and began to type the only thing that I could remember -- A typing exercise from high school in 1964 -- "asdfjkl; ASDFJKL; All good men should come to the aid of their country." Everyday, I would type just to find my mind again. I began to write a story, one that I had in my mind since I was eight years old. I called the manuscript 'THE QUILT'. It is the story of a German woman and her heirloom quilt made by her Oma and passed down to her. Eventually, I developed the manuscript into a novel and submitted it to a contest on Amazon in 2010, the same time that you had made the sculpture, THE QUILT. That same year, I wanted to research antique quilts because I had never made one and yet I was compelled to write a novel about one. I went to hundreds of sites on the internet looking for information. I was astounded when I had found a quilt which matched the description I had written about it perfectly. The dealer told me that he had no idea how they had acquired it but that it was made during the Victorian Age, the same time I had written that my character, Frau Frieda Schmidt, had made hers. I self published the novel in many editions since 2011. Your sculpture, a gift from my loving daughter is also one that I will treasure always. I wish you much success with your sculptures. They are truly beautiful and meaningful and they express the true value of creative thinking. Maura

The 'Promise' piece was just given to me as a Christmas gift from my ex-fiancé. We met in January 2011, dated for a year, got engaged July 2012, I then moved in with him and his son. But something happened to what we knew we once had felt. Neither of us were sure how to get that amazing feeling back so I broke off the engagement and moved out November 2013. We decided to try and start over, and to start dating again. Christmas 2013, my friend, my lover, my companion for life presented this gift (that says it came from Santa). We have found our way back to each other and once again we see and know why we are so in love! This figurine of Promise from him is a new moment and memory we will cherish forevermore, just like our love for each other. I look forward to many years to come to collect the others.

Submitted by Angela Stoner in Charlestown, IN 47111, October 2013

My husband had a heart attack the day after his 51st birthday. He then suffered a major stroke that has affected his left side. we do not know the extent of the damage yet. I saw "Promise"(in the gift shop) the 2nd day of his 29 day hospital stay, when he was in hydro-therapy(were they cool body down to 90 degrees for 24 hrs and slowly warm body back up). It just made me think of Dan and me. Dan then suffered the stroke. He did not wake up or respond to pain, light, nothing for 13 days. I was told I would have to make some tough choices. The pastor at the hospital told me he thought Dan was already gone. I still looked at "promise" everyday wanting so bad to be in my husbands arms again. It just tore my heart up to look at "promise" but it held a good thought too of his arms around me. On the 13th day my husbands eyes started to react to light. He started squeezing our hands. Opening his eyes for just a few minutes at a time. Day 14 they took him off the vent. The first words he said to me were " I love you too". Every day he has gotten stronger and more alert. Today was day 29. On my way to his room this morning I bought "promise" because I could resist it no more. Imagine my joy to find out my husband was being sent to rehab today, earlier than we thought. I showed it to Dan and told him why I had to have it. I really thought my strong husband was about to cry. He looked it over and told me it belongs on our mantle. I can't stop looking at "promise" It gives such a wonderful happy feeling. :)

I bought this piece during my graduation trip. As I entered the shop selling Willow Tree product, I spotted it and my emotion for my boyfriend just rushed out. I hadn't seen him for a month and I miss him dearly. The piece was the right thing to express my love. When I returned to him, he proposed to me at the airport. That's real surprise! He gave me the ring and I gave him "Promise" in return. It's one of the epic moments in my life.

I have to share with you my special gift that was given to me. My husband never buys me figurines, or anything really. Last Wednesday I went into a store and saw the Willow Tree figurines and thought "these are really cool; I wish my husband would buy me one of these some day." I never said anything to him at all. He wasn't there with me and never saw me look at them. I came home from work today, and he asked me to go into the bedroom with him. Sitting there on my pillow was the "Promise" figurine that I was looking at. I started to cry. He asked me why and I told him what I saw on Wednesday and what I thought. He said he felt he needed to go to this store and while he was there the Holy Spirit spoke to him and told him to buy this figurine for me--wow, just wow, really? How on earth could that ever happen? Had I not been the one involved in this story, I would never believe it. Thank you for such a wonderful memory and story for me. This figurine means so much to me,and me alone. No one can have this story or feel this love and closeness that I have with my husband.

I received 'Promise' yesterday for our five year anniversary. It's very special to me because my partner took the time to research Willow Tree & find the piece that was unique to us & our situation. It takes me back to our time when we were first dating before we had children. My favorite thing to do with him was dance. We used to dance so beautifully together. Now we struggle to find the time running around after two girls. I suffer from depression & when I look at the 'Promise' beside my bed it helps me to stay positive & remember amazing times & feelings. I love the dancing view.

My husband and I fell in love at first site. Our first date on Monday, then Tuesday, then Wednesday we bought our wedding rings and four and a half weeks later got married. We had owned a statue entitled "Romeo and Juliet." We had looked to that as a symbol of us. In 1997 our home and all our belongings were lost the flood and fire in Grand Forks, ND (We were military) We lost our symbol. I have been looking ever since for just the right piece to replace that lost treasure. I didn't want just anything, it had to say Ron and Joanne. As soon as I saw this piece I knew that was it, my husband fully agreed. We have been married, and might I say very happily as well, for the past thirty years. I just received our new symbol of our love and it is placed on the mantle in our living room. A new beginning and hope for another 30 years or so. Thank you for this beautiful piece and new treasure for us.

Two years ago, I was searching online for the piece, "Together'. I happened to see it at a hospital gift shop. Initially, I had planned on getting it, but I wanted to see what my fiancee thought, so I held off on buying it. A few months passed and my fiancee had returned from Belgium, and I moved to be with him. One evening before Christmas, when I was on the website, I stumbled upon 'Promise.' I knew then that this piece was perfect for us. Whenever my fiancee would help me to stand up from my wheelchair, he would hold me close, and sway with me. I bought the piece for him as a present. He loved it! Before the wedding, we would sway and 'dance' to practice. On our wedding day, when we danced, my husband held me just like the figurine couple. It now stands beside our wedding photo in the living room, reminding us of our love and promise for each other.

One day I was walking down the street and I looked to a store and I couldn't belive it. There were some sculptures from Susan. My parents have been married for 32 years, so I bought this piece as a gift to celebrate the promise they made 32 years ago. They love each other, and I love that.

This was bought for me as a Christmas gift, it was my dad who gave me the gift. I didn't think too much about it at the time until I bought a new display cabinet for my lounge and I put the piece of willow inside next to a photograph of my dad, it was then that I said to my husband I would like to start collecting more, and so I started to look into what each of the pieces was telling us. The thing is it was only then I realized what the piece meant that my dad had given me. This just made it even more important has I have since lost my dad to cancer. The thing is I'm not sure if this was some kind of final message, as although I have been with my husband 20 years we are newly weds. The good news is my dad was there with me--it was something we felt we needed to do while my dad was still with us. It makes me feel better to feel I was able to give my dad something he gave me. He gave me the figure and I gave him the true story. My next piece into the cabinet will be father and daughter.

I purchased this for the top of my wedding cake. I lost my husband of 53 years and never thought I would meet anybody again that would love me as my husband did. My husband's wish was that I would find someone else to love and cherish me like he did. I went on a matching site and did not take it seriously, but did put a profile on it for fun. I got an answer from one of the men. He lost his wife of 40 years and was looking for a companion. We met ( with my children taking me). We have a lot in common, as he was a caretaker of 6 years for his wife and I also was a caretaker for my husband. We felt so comfortable with each other right from the start and now we will be getting married in May. Love can still happen in your 70's.

I love your figurines. I own "The Hero" because of a loved one who has passed away and she stands next to his military flag. I gave "Close to Me" to my daughter while she was away at school. I gave "Generations" to my grandson's mother at her baby shower. I gave "Father and Daughter" to my husband when I first saw your beautiful figurines, and "Promise" was my anniversary gift to him a year ago on Valentines. Right now I am looking for Mother and son for both of my sons. One son is now a father and the other is going through some rough times. So I thought I needed different emotions, but of course your figurine says it all. I do wish though, that there was one showing a mom embracing her son like she never ever wanted to let him go. I think my son needs that right now and he is in another state, so symbolically your statue could say that for me. Thank you for making such beautiful and meaningful art! Sometimes I find myself standing there in tears or smiling or just...standing in awe. RL

After dating only a few short months, my husband bought a ring. He wanted it to be a surprise, but he's the worst at keeping secrets! So just a few nights after I'd found out, and after trying to convince me he wouldn't propose for another few months, we had a romantic evening together. He made me dinner, we cuddled on the couch and watched a movie, and eventually we fell asleep. When I woke up, it was almost midnight, and I needed to go home. As we walked to the door, he stopped, pulled me in close and we started dancing slowing. He whispered sweet things in my ear, kissed my cheek, and then dropped down to his knee and proposed. I can't say I was surprised, but I was so very happy. We're coming up on our 5 year wedding anniversary this month, and my husband just bought me the "Promise" figure. It's a perfect similitude of that tender moment, and a wonderful reminder of the promises we've made to each other. I love it so much!

On the 11 June 2009 (my birthday) my partner (now husband) kept me awake until after 12 midnight so he could give me two of the three presents he had purchased for me. I opened both of them and this was one of them. I loved it the moment I saw it. I was then allowed to go to bed, only to be awakened at 6:00 am and told to get dressed, as we were going out. I wasn't impressed being that I'm not a morning person and it was after all my birthday. He got in the car with me following along, wouldn't tell me where we were going, and we ended up at the Storey Bridge in Brisbane. I told him I wasn't climing the bridge, however, 957 stairs later I was at the top and it was beautiful. We crossed over the bridge and climbed some more stairs (just in case we hadn't done enough already) where he got down on his knee, told me I was the most beautiful person in the world, his best friend and the one person he couldn't live without, and then asked me to marry him. I was absolutely thrilled and of course said yes! When I look at this on our bookshelf I smile and think about that day. It still brings tears to my eyes and a smile to my lips. Thank you for creating something so beautiful.

In July 2010, Jeffrey and I were married. We were 61 years old. We had met in March 2009 after each being single for 20 years. Friends and family had been praying for each of us to meet the person God had meant for each other. We knew this was the marriage that would last forever. It was, and is, our "Promise" to each other, our true commitment to the love we share. We chose this lovely piece (the larger one) as the top of our wedding cake which shimmered like sparkling sand and had real sea shells. It was as if we were dancing on the beach alone. We're about to celebrate our 1st anniversary, and I'm surprising him with the "Anniversary" piece to add to our collection we've come to treasure. I've been the blessed recipient of many pieces from friends, and have given them to friends and family. What a lovely collection and legacy you've given us. Thank you!

My husband and I were so happy to know it was the "Promise" one! We love how there are no faces and they are so simple; the couple can be anyone we want them to be, i.e., us! And now for our first Valentine's together as husband and wife, he bought me the "Je T'aime". I am so thankful to have a small collection for us now! And we have decided every Valentine's Day, Anniversary and Christmas we will get each other one, because it symbolizes our life together and our love!

I had seen the Willow Tree angels in the stores, but never really paid that much attention to them. After a short separation from my husband, we decided to work on our marriage. Recently we were in a store and he asked me if I liked them, and of course I said I did. Nothing else was said at the time. On Valentine's Day 2011 he gave me the "Promise - Hold dear the promise of love" angel. This was the perfect angel, and a promise that I would have his love forever. These angels are so beautiful, but so simple, and with a lot of meaning. I look at the angel every day and know that our marriage has promise and is meant to be.

    Promise

After 30 years, I've finally met my "childhood sweetheart." For some reason, the innocent love that we called it back then rekindled into something far more serious, and more genuine. I gave her The Promise figurine that symbolizes the promise of my true and genuine love for her. It also symbolizes our promise to love each other until the end. Below is the poem that I have composed, just for her, together with The Promise. Our Time..... Our time has come, To see each other again. Our moment has arrived, To express this love we have. When I saw you at a distance, as you walked towards me. I felt the thrill of seeing you, and I can't believe that it's you. I gave you a warm kiss, and I thought it was just a dream. But you assured me with hug, and a whisper that you're here. I kept looking at your face, as I continue to be amazed. I still can't believe that you're the girl, I adored and loved back in the days. We held our hands together, and felt the magic we had back then. That moment that I've been waiting for, finally that magical time is here. We laughed and cried together, while we reminisced our past. We assured ourselves right there, that our future would be better. We renewed our promise, and we renewed our vows. That the love we have for each other, is here to last until forever. We expressed our love for each other, and we knew that it was for real. I hugged you tight and kissed you, and told you that my genuine love is for you. If only I could stay for awhile, to spend more time with you. I would do more for us, to prove that this love is true. I love you more than you know, I just wish I didn't have to go. I just want another day with you, And I know that's what you would have wanted too. I miss you more and more each day, There is so much more we had to say. I know I will see you again, and this time I will be with you until the end. I love you so much.

My husband is a United States Marine. We have been together for five years, married for two, and are currently going through his second deployment to Afghanistan. He knows that I've been wanting to start a Willow Tree collection for the events in our lives. The day he left, he brought me out a present. In it was this figurine with a note that said, "I promise to always love you. I promise I will always return home to you. Always remember that when you look at this. I love you."

To say that the song "God Blessed the Broken Road" would be an understatement for my husband and I ending up together, very happily married for one year as of 12/31/10. He is the blessing and the promise of love, he is a blessing and a promise from God. I love Willow Tree carvings, and only mentioned it to my husband once in a store that had them. He came home the other day with "Promise," and he told me that it says exactly what he wants to say to me about how he loves me. This statue, when set side by side with our favorite wedding photo, perfectly mimics the way we are standing and holding one another, and he didn't even realize it until I put them together. Meant to be, and that is a Promise.

Today, my boyfriend came over with my Christmas present; we had been separated on the actual holiday. He gave me a hug and just handed me this box. I opened it up to find the beautiful "Promise" inside. This was the perfect gift. This boy means so much to me, and the fact that he gave me something so meaningful and beautiful means the world to me. I have fallen in love with this piece and can't wait to see the others! I couldn't believe how well this piece matched my boyfriend and me. Thank you.

My husband met me just when I was starting to collect the WillowTree figures. He always finds the right ones for the right moments in our lives. Promise was one he gave to me before we were married. He gave it as a gift to promise me that he would always be a good person, always be there for me, and never give up on us. It has been a mainstay to my collection because we have been through a lot since meeting. Promise now stands by the little picture we have to remember the baby we lost in a miscarriage. Thank you for creating products that touch our hearts!!!

Keeping a promise is very important to me. When I make a promise, I keep that promise, and when someone makes a promise to me, I expect them to keep it. My boyfriend had made a promise to me on a ring, promising to be with me always, and for my birthday, one month before our three year anniversary, he got me the "Promise" Willow Tree figure, knowing how much I love Willow Tree. Along with the figure he wrote me a note saying on this figure he makes a similar promise as the promise of my ring. This one however is a promise of our future together. I cried when I received the figure, and still cry after reading the note. Nothing he has given me can compare to this figurine, or his promise.

My son is an United States Marine currently serving in Afghanistan. Last week I was in a store and saw one of your figurines that took my breath away. It is the "Promise" figurine. My son and his fiance took a picture on the beach in Alabama that looks almost identical to the figurine. They could have been your inspiration, it's so close. I'm helping him with his shopping for her and bought the "Promise" today and am placing a copy of the picture in a silver frame. She will receive them for Christmas from him.

I have fallen in love with your figurines. I have "Promise" representing the love & commitment between my husband & myself who have a long, interesting history together. We met as young teens, dated just out of high school, were apart for 3 tough years & not with anyone else, reunited, married, & now have 2 beautiful children. I received "Cherish" during our 2nd pregnancy. My mother got it for me during our first pregnancy, but I miscarried before she was able to surprise me with it. She decided to wait & gave it to me after I got pregnant again, so as not to upset me, however, I now view it as an homage to each of my pregnancies. She gave me "Child of my Heart" when our son became a toddler. It exudes the deep love & security between mother & child. I look forward to seeing what you create and adding to my cherished collection. Rebecca - Iowa

A few years ago, my mom and I were at our local Hallmark store when I happened upon the Demadco collection for the first time. I was a senior in high school at the time and, being an artist and musician, had always been a romantic. When I saw the "Promise" statue, I stared at it for a long time--kind of lost in thought; all I ever wanted was a marriage and family of my very own. Being late in the game and not having yet found the "one" worth dating at the time, I remember showing the statue to my mom and saying "I really wish I had a guy in my life--like this." Of course, she replied "Don't worry; it will happen soon enough." Well, I am 25 now and going on my first anniversary on October 31st to the greatest guy in the world. And just tonight he surprised me with an early anniversary gift: The "Promise" statue that I had told him the story of back while we were still dating. Needless to say, I got way more than I had ever anticipated that day.

I am getting married on October 9, 2010. I received the Promise as a gift from someone at work. This is my first piece from the Willow Tree collection but it is not my last piece. I figured this is the perfect time to start collecting the piece since I'm starting a new life & eventually a family. I know people that have some of the pieces. Im so happy that I finally have something I can collect that is also beautiful.

My story is sad, but one of love. My partner Michael was looking for a special gift for me to signify his feelings. After browsing the gift shop in Solihull he was drawn to "Promise." He kept returning to it and said he just knew he had to buy it. He presented it to me with a little gift card and I thought it was beautiful. Unfortunately only after 13 months of being together Michael suddenly passed away, he suffered a massive stroke from which he could not recover. The "promise" is a gift I will always treasure and is a constant reminder of our love. The little figurine is just how we used to hold each other and we believed it was made just for us...

My husband and I were high school sweethearts and we married in '06. I remember we looked EVERYWHERE for a cake topper that was really *us*, online, in stores, up and down the I5 corridor, until I found this figurine (along with many other Willow Trees) in a tiny little store close to our home town. It was perfect. Heavy, but I knew as soon as I saw it that we'd make it work no matter what. I just wish the cake topper of this had been around back then! This will always ALWAYS be my favorite Willow Tree. Thank you.

The day I encountered this beautiful figurine I was killing time whilst waiting for an appointment. I had no intention of purchasing anything but when I saw Promise it was like something shot through my heart reminding me of a Promise from God I received in 2003. It has not yet been fulfilled and many times I begin to lose hope. The day I encountered this figurine (and subsequently bought) was the feast of the Annunciation, a day when God's promise to the Jewiah people was fulfilled. I feel this was significant and now every time I look on the figurine my hope is rekindled. It truly is a promise of love.
