“I sculpted this piece using my parents as models. When I asked them to sit down and get comfortable, they just seemed to fit together so perfectly. It was such a self-directed pose, as though they’ve been doing it for years — and they have! They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in 2011. The carving on the back is a little added discovery …. ‘I love thee’. I like the sound of the word ‘thee’. It feels poetic and intimate to me."

“Calla lilies are a symbol of majestic beauty. I chose this flower to represent a pure and simple wish for beauty and peace in our lives…a universal sentiment for so many occasions…birth, marriage, anniversaries, in sympathy and in remembrance. Beautiful wishes are what we send to those we care for and about.”

“My daughter lives in France, so I’ve traveled there quite a bit in the last few years. I enjoy the art and architecture, the gorgeous countryside, learning the language… It’s truly a culture of romance. So in sculpting Je t’aime, a piece about love, I wanted it to have a little more style and mystique… a sophistication, an elegance… I made changes to the dress — extending sleeves and neckline. I love the challenge of starting with a solid, opaque, hard surface, and carving and carving until it looks like embellished lace. The extensive surface carving makes Je t’aime unique in the line. Although influenced by France, Je t’aime is a universal piece. The sentiment moves from the universal, to the personal one-on-one. ‘In any language, it’s you I love.'"
Hold dear the promise of lovePromise$37.00Description
“I carved this piece so that it could be viewed ‘in the round’. You get a different understanding depending on how you turn the piece. If you view from the side where you can see the man and woman's arms around each other, it looks like they're kissing. If you turn it and view it from where you can see their faces and clasped hands, it looks like they're dancing — and it's a totally different piece. I like this duality of interpretation.”

My daughter collects Willow Tree, and I thought you would like to know the part you take in the lives you touch and just how perfectly they fit. For my daughter's wedding, she received her first one of a couple intertwined, "Together." A few years later she got her second one,"Cherish," as a baby shower gift. For her first Mother's Day she received her third one, "Mother & Daughter." On my son-in-law's first Father's Day my daughter bought him "New Dad." My daughter then received the fifth one, "Happiness," as a birthday gift. All are displayed on a shelf in just this order for all to see, each one with their own special meaning and memory to mark milestones in the life of a very special couple. On July 9th they will celebrate their 9th anniversary, so my daughter bought the Promise Musical for my son in law. The 9th wedding anniversary gift is willow. This one of the couple intertwined plays Pachelbel's Canon in D Major, the song that played when my daughter walked down the aisle on their wedding day. I'm hoping that you know just how much these mean and how many moments in time they capture. Thank you.Read More >

My Fiance and i have been together for 6 years. 3.5 years have been spent apart on opposite sides of the country. We both love classical music. Years ago we decided that Pachelbel's Cannon in D Major would be our 'Wedding Song.' Before long periods of time spent apart, we would often share intimate moments where we would hold each other as the figurines are in the piece and sway to Cannon in D Major. We mostly ended up in tears of unrivaled love and promise to return to one another. He has been away with the Navy for 6 months now and our love has been uncertain at times, to say the least. But he promises to always love me no matter what. When I received this piece as a belated anniversary gift from him I was immediately reduced to tears. It has so much meaning to me and to us, it really touched my heart in a way I cannot explain. It expresses the promise of our love and our promise to finally slow dance to Cannon in D Major when we marry. Every time I look at it and hear the music I remember the times we swayed to the song and the intimacy it brought. This piece will surely give so much more meaning to our wedding when we dance to the song and It will surely carry me through the difficult times of separation ahead of us. This is by far the best gift I have ever received. I will treasure it forever.Read More >

Hi, My husband and I found the Willow Tree collection during a city trip in Köln (Germany). We fell completely in love with it and bought some statues as Christmas gifts. We will reach our fifth wedding anniversary in May and I need this one, not only because we love Willow Tree but also because this song was played by a folkloric group for our first dance :)Read More >

I have loved and collected Willow Tree pieces for years. I love the stories they tell and every time I'm given one from someone, they tell me why it means something special from them to me. My husband and I were married in 2008. and a couple of years ago we were window shopping and I saw the Promise Musical piece. I loved it and told my husband I wanted it. When we were married, I walked down the aisle to "Canon in D." We just celebrated our 5 year anniversary, and he surprised me with Promise. I hadn't mentioned it in over a year and was amazed he remembered! I love it and have listened to it several times!! Thank you for the joy and memories you bring to people's lives!Read More >

My husband and I received this piece on our 5th wedding anniversary from a dear friend with whom we both work. From the moment I saw and heard it, I fell in love with it. It's comforting to know that we are not the only two who care about our marriage, but other people as well. Everyone has their ups and downs in a relationship, and this piece will always remind me to keep our promise no matter how hard things might get and that we will always have the support of our family and friends to help keep our love strong and ongoing for many years to come. Thank you Cedo for the reminder. You're truly one of God's angels.Read More >

My husband died recently, couple of weeks before his 30th birthday. Promise musical reminds me of our love, our past, plans we had. It reminds me that I had something that most people dream of - fulfilled marriage. And even though my husband is not with me any more, he lives trough our children, in our hearts. And whenever I am listening to the Promise musical, I feel all the happiness we shared.Read More >

The love of my life and I met when we were 14 years old in high school. Both of us were afraid to tell the other we liked each other. We met 20 years later and fell madly in love and are now engaged to be married. When we moved in together we un-boxed things from his old house with his ex wife. There was the statue "Together". My fiance told me his ex told him to throw it out because it had blonde hair not black like hers. Well he held onto it and it is pretty amazing how dead on it looks like us. I have the exact hair as in your artwork. the coloring, the waves, length, everything. Plus, I have slways worn white floor length dresses. My fiance has always imagined me in white since we were kids. He told me. I said to him, "That's because you are supposed to. I will be your bride one day wearing a long white dress." He was shocked and got chills. He said, "That's it! That's why I've always seen you in my mind in a white dress! We then bought "Promise" for ourselves and have been collecting ever since. Finding "Together" was meant to be for us. Purchasing "Promise" was giving our word to each other that we would always be together, and nothing is more perfect than that to me.Read More >

My husband and I celebrated our first Wedding Anniversary on 1/11/12. I wanted to find a special card so I went to Hallmark. The very first card I picked up was perfect and spoke exactly what my heart was feeling--It was fate. As I was just about ready to leave, I saw "Promise" displayed in the aisle I was walking through. As soon as I saw that the music was "Canon in D," I began to cry and said, "It's US!" Again, I knew it was fate! On the way home, I was just about to call my husband when "our song" came on the radio. Just then, my husband called me. It was like our hearts and minds were being guided by unseen forces. On our anniversary day, when I gave the gift of "Promise" to my husband and shared the special story of how these events transpired, we both shared tears of joy as we remembered our wedding day as "Canon in D" played in the background. The Musical is so beautiful and so representative of us and our love, our promise to each other, and it took me back to that beautiful day on 1/11/11 as I walked down the aisle to Cannon in D. Now Promise will become a part of our Anniversary celebrations for a lifetime to come. Thank You!Read More >

We had vouchers from our wedding six months ago and decided to have a look around. My husband knew that I liked Willow Tree and pointed this couple out and he said, "Oh look; it plays music." As soon as I read the 'Pachelbel's Canon' I started crying, and said "this is fate, we have to get this." This was the song I walked down the aisle to and it brought the day and memories flooding back. I am so happy we found this. It is just perfect and has such sentimental value.Read More >
