    Grateful

Submitted by Faye Sykora Mcbride in Edgewood, TX, October 2016

Grateful has to be my favorite because of the many blessings of friendships I have with family, co-workers and church. I am truly blessed to have each and everyone of them in my life. God has so graciously placed them there at the prefect and extract time and for the most precious moments in my life and I am eternally grateful. So when I look at the piece named Grateful it makes me smile and thank God for the blessings in my life. I live in Edgewood Texas.

I received my Grateful Angel from my employers at Pitter Patter Day Nursery on leaving the company in June 2016, The Grateful Angel meant a lot to me knowing my employers didn't just see me as a worker but also a friend, As Tragically On the 7th April 2016 our son Daniel passed away at 16yrs old; this was not only heart breaking but devastation for us; our Grateful Angel will always be appreciated as we are Grateful for those who care.

    Grateful

I was looking for a birthday gift for a woman that is very dear to me and that I will be eternally grateful for. When I saw this piece, I knew this would be the one I would get her. I think she would appreciate it because of its sentimental value and Willow Tree products look amazing anywhere! This is pretty personal but I think it is necessary to explain why this figurine works perfectly. Amy allowed me to move in with her at age 20 when I was struggling to do my best to keep my Christian faith. She saw that my battle ahead of me was going to be hard if not impossible to do without any support and a godly home, for the one I was living in had caused me much grief. She began to teach me about the word of God in a depth I had never heard and encouraged me in ways that have only caused me to grow and gain stability in my faith. Amy has taken a mother role in my life as she has taught me how to do typical life tasks such as cleaning and cooking. She has no relation to me but shows the love of God in the most real way possible. She is a shining example of what it means to be a God-fearing woman. I look up to her and am forever grateful of what she has done to ensure that I have a better life.

    Grateful

Susan, Precious Grateful. When I had already purchased from our local family Christian store many years now The Willow "Peace on Earth", "Grateful" was with her and also "Hero" which you do not see in any of these stores anymore. Perhaps why it brought me to this grateful site. Grateful, became my gratitude and thankful heart to The Father through King Jesus and The Holy Spirit. He, The Father had given me my life back through His Son. When I saw Grateful I gave it back to The Father all it represented in this living sanctuary. The Father Received Grateful. Later, our neighbor and her husband Aerobic family were riding on their motorcycle and were hit by a car and left there. Later the guy was arrested but then let go. Our neighbor, she was paralyzed from the neck down but is slowly coming back, Praise God. The Father, expressed to take Grateful to her with a message. That we are grateful to The Father for her life, and that through His Gratefulness, we forgive the man and hold no offense toward him. She received The Father's Heart and found Praise to Him in the spirit of forgiveness and gratefulness. She is Strengthened every time she remembers this and gazes at "Grateful" on her shelf. Healing is permeating in her body day by day through her grateful and forgiving heart. Thank you Susan for your talent and sweetness that certainly touches many lives in many ways in the expression of The Willows. There are many testimonies this is only one more to add to the volume of His Love, Mercy, Joy, Strength, Peace, Comfort and Healing, without limits. Peace and Gratefully thankful for you, your team and family's contributions in this earth. Sweet love, a truly appreciated friend.

    Grateful

As a nurse I care for patients before they are sent for surgery. For some people this experience is not new to them as they may have had many surgeries. For others, however, surgery can be a new and frightening experience. It is my job to take care of the physical needs of the patients. I also see that the mental needs of my patients are just as important as their physical needs. I had a patient who was filled with anxiety. She asked questions and made many requests that were beyond what I as a nurse necessarily did not have to fulfill. I saw how important these requests were to her. When patient's requests are not filled before their surgery, how can they trust the rest of the OR staff to sincerely care for them during their surgery? With every passing moment she was with me, her anxiety level went from a 10 to a possible 4 or 5 (I knew I could not calm her totally, but I tried my best). Evidently this worked. The next week I came in to work and I had gifts from her. A plaque about Kindness and a Grateful Willow Tree Angel. She is my first Willow Tree. I am grateful to my patient as her act of kindness to me reinforces my desire to continually care for my patients the way they each need to be cared for. When I look at my angel every morning before I go to work, I am reminded of this each and every day.

My friend of 21 years was diagnosed with terminal cancer in December 2010, and now has been told she has only weeks to live, it was her birthday and i struggled to find a present--what do you buy a friend who does not have long to live? Everything seemed insignificant. I have several Willow tree ornaments, and decided the one which showed how grateful i was for our friendship was perfect, i also bought her 11 year old daughter the 'Guardian Angel' one. That way her daughter can keep them in memory of her mum. Willow Tree ornaments speak a thousand words!!

    Grateful

Submitted by Aisling in Ireland, February 2012

Twelve months ago I walked out of a marriage in which I was very sad, unhappy, and where lots of nasty and unkind things happened. I was worried that my friends wouldn't support me, but when I told them, it was like they carried me, wrapped me up in their love and never questioned my decision. They saw how unhappy I was even before I did. Every day, every minute, every second, I am grateful for their friendship. We have been friends for over 30 years. This awful situation has only lent itself to making our friendship so much more solid and unwavering. This year, my first birthday as a separated woman, my friends brought me Grateful. There are three flowers in her hands, one for each of us. You'll never know how much it means to me. Thank you.

    Grateful

Sveta and Armen are my first and best friends in Southern California. When I first met Sveta, she had been in the U.S. for only days, and I was pretty new to California, myself. Despite the fact that we live two hours away from each other, we have supported each other emotionally through our doctoral-seeking process. Although I have other friends, there is a spiritual connection I feel with Sveta and Armen that is somehow communicated through the 'Grateful' statue. I love it, because it is how I see Sveta and because it reflects the gratitude I feel for their friendship. They share depth, caring, intelligence, and maturity that one does not always find in a friend. This is one of many reasons why I value their friendship.

My best friend moved and when I saw this it showed all my feelings for her. How much I miss her, how I enjoyed always being with her, the memories we share, all in one simple figurine. How beautiful. How sweet friendship is.
