Laughter with love... always

“When I think back to when my daughter was growing up, what I remember most are the times we laughed together. We share the same memories, the little funny things that, at times, only we think are funny… Humor plays a big part in a relationship. When you laugh together, it strengthens your connection to each other. Even today, my favorite part about being a parent is laughing with my children… pure and simple, we always have so much fun. Just being together… doing ordinary stuff.”

    Mother and Daughter

Submitted by Nancy J in OH, December 2016

I have enjoyed the Willow Tree figures for many years. I have purchased some myself and received some as gifts. This year on my 65th birthday (December 10th) my daughter Holly surprised me with the Mother and Daughter figurine. It holds special significance since I did turn 65 and Holly and I have really become much closer and better friends in the last year or so. Thank you so much for your wonderful products and your exceptional talent.

My favorite is Mother/ daughter figurines. What makes these figurines especially special to me is because they are faceless. I had a daughter that was born on my 18th birthday in 1965. I was unwed and got pregnant after the 11th grade and was sent away to give my baby up for adoption. I longed to know my daughter for 33 years until I found her and met her in Jan. 1999. I prayed each night for God to let me see her face. Whenever I would dream of her I could not see her face. After we reunited and I was looking for a special gift for her birthday, I came across the Willow collection and knew that this was the perfect gift for her. She and I both longed to see the others face. I have given her a Willow Tree figurine every year thereafter.

My favorite piece is called Mother & Daughter. My best friend gave it to me at my dear mother's memorial 11 years ago. As for everyone, losing one's mom is devastation to say the least. And this piece from my friend, who doesn't have much money, not back then or now, meant so much as she really had to scrape up the funds to get it for me. And it just made me feel like I was getting a hug from my mom. I live in Florida and she lived in New York but I visited her several times a year. And it was funny, she was funny, we would hug and she wouldn't let go and I told her she was hanging on me like a slug! So from that point on we always gave each other "slug hugs"! So every time I look at it, it brings a smile to my face! Thank you for making such lovely memories...

I have several now but I think my favorite is my first piece. It was "MotherDaughter". One of my daughters bought it for me with her own money when she was only 9 years old. We had been shopping and I saw a Willow Tree display for the first time and fell in love. She decided to save up some money and buy me one. She chose "MotherDaughter" herself. After that first one I decided to buy a piece that best represented my relationship with each of my children. And of course I have other pieces as well. But that first one will always be extra special to me.

My favorite Willow tree piece is Mother and Daughter. I live here in the US but my children are all in The UK. My daughter Gina bought it for me and every time I look at it I feel closer to her. She fell in love with my collection and she now collects them too. I bought her the Mother and Daughter piece as her first keepsake.

My favorite Willow Tree is the mother and daughter. A lady I worked with gave it to me after I lost my only child in an auto accident. It gives me comfort and helps me remember the special times we shared. A few years later I bought the mother and son when I was blessed with the adoption of a sweet 4 year old son. I have several willow trees but these two are my favorites!

    #27270 MotherDaughter

Submitted by Pati Mitchell in Arlington, TX, June 2016

My precious daughter, Jessica, died in August 2007. I am now raising her precious daughter, Alison. It took more than 2 years to rescue Alison from her abusive and neglectful father, but I've had Alison for almost 7 years now. I am so incredibly blessed to have her. Alison has Rett syndrome (see rettsyndrome.org). She graduated the sixth grade this past May, special education for ISPD (individuals with severe and profound disabilities). One of her teachers gave me your lovely piece as a graduation gift for both Alison and me. I couldn't believe how much it looks like me holding Alison! Try as I might, I couldn't help the tears that came to my eyes. I also see it as Jessica holding Alison ... again ... tears. If my home caught fire, I would first grab Alison and her medications, then my Willow Tree piece. Thank you for sharing your God-given gift with the world.

My 15 year old is going out of the country and will not be here for Mother's day for the first time. She surprised me yesterday with this beautiful figurine. She read a reflection as I was opening it and contemplating the unique details of the embrace between a Mother and her daughter. It is hands down the most thoughtful and meaningful gift she has ever given me and I already cherish it as one of my most valuable possessions. Today as I look at it, I see her and myself, her sitting on my lap as we talk and giggle.

I have been a fan for years and have given my mom almost all of you sweet angels. 🤗 A few years ago, my brother died from esophageal cancer at age 60. That Christmas I gave mom the mother holding her son; she never let go of it and held it as if holding her son Paul. This year I gave mom the mother rocking her baby. As a young child I was always sick and mom would rock me all night, so this one is extra special to me. Now that my mom is approaching 90 years of age I would love to see one of your angels showing the adult daughter holding her aging mother. The best gift a daughter could ever give her mom. ❤️

I recieved my first Willow Tree statue on my first Mothers Day in 2010. My son was only a month old and the mother father figure with the infant between them brought tears to my eyes. This was the moment in our life - captured forever in a statue. The next year another figure of a mother holding an older baby was perfect and quickly added to my collection. My daughter was born in 2011 and I realized that Susan Lordi will have a forever customer in me!! Thank you for helping me capture my memories in a forever way. Jolene

    MotherDaughter and Angel of Caring

Submitted by Lynnette Hugunin-Murphy in Camanche Ia, November 2014

When my mother passed away on October 30,2014 I went into our local funeral home to view her body; there were two angels. One came from my two best friends (Mother and Daughter) and one came from the nursing facility where my mom lived (Angel of Caring). I was thrilled and happy after having tears. I was very close to my mom. These angels made me even closer to her and I can feel her with me even more. I took my mom to every appointment and loved being with her at every moment of her 90 years. Thank you for the memories and the beautiful angels. They make life easier without the Angel of my life; my MOM.

Hi I used to own some Willow Tree pieces which I looked at daily in my home. In October 2013 our house was burnt to the ground together with the extensive garden. After the fires someone kindly bought me two Willow pieces. We are so thankful we are all alive and the joy of your simple elegant timeless pieces lives again!

My daughter Robin sent me 2 of your beautiful pieces for my birthday. The Mother and Daughter and the girl holding out her arms with the birds sitting on them. Robin is a wild life photographer, and she specializes in birds, so that one was just perfect, especially with her name "Robin." I love your figurines and look forward to receiving more in the future.
