May all your senses be filled with healing grace

“A field of lavender never fails to take my breath away. You experience lavender through all your senses – not only its aromatic fragrance, but its pure visual beauty... its form is uplifting, and the color is gorgeous. In any garden, it’s a standout. It even tastes good! Speaking as a gardener, lavender is just good for the soul – and so, it heals. I wanted this piece to be a healing piece. But it also could be seen as a piece about strength. She’s looking up; her stance is strong and uplifted, like lavender. I named her Lavender Grace... perhaps she could remind you of someone who exemplifies a life of beauty and grace.”

    Lavender Grace

Lavender Grace was given to me by a dear childhood girlfriend. We live on opposites sides of the country and haven't seen each other in years. This piece was sent to me after the loss of my beloved standard poodle Titan and the loss of my step-father within the same week. The scent of lavender has always been comforting to me and is one of my favorite essential oils, and lavender is one of my favorite garden flowers. This piece is comforting in its simplicity and its reminder to fill our senses with our favorite things while they are here to enjoy. Also, unknown to my friend is that I had bought a Willow Tree plant as a remembrance to my beloved poodle for its meanings and symbolism, thus making this special in even more ways. <3

    Willow Lavender Grace

Submitted by Cindy McArthur in N Canton, Ohio, March 2017

I just received today my Lavender Grace from my oldest and dearest friend. It was a lovely surprise and one that I will cherish forever. We have been through a lot together. We have known each other since we were 12 yrs old and have always been there for each other; we will always remain so. In this instance, I can't thank her enough for her loyal support, strength, shared tons of laughter, a strong shoulder to cry on, as well as her unconditional love while I am undergoing a very stressful medical challenge in my life. I wish every person could have a friend like this in his/her life! I am truly blessed and love her with all my heart.

    Lavender Grace

Lavender Grace is most meaningful to me because I received it from a close relative after we had a miscarriage. My husband had bought me a new Willow Tree mother figurine after the birth of each of our two sons. We were thrilled to be expecting a baby once more, only to be devastated by miscarriage. I knew I wanted to remember our child in a way that would not be so obvious. For me, I needed to grieve at times but also to move on at others. I knew a Willow Tree would be the perfect subtle reminder of our love and grief for that child. I searched the website and kept coming back to Lavender Grace. My precious uncle and aunt sent it to me as a gift within days. The simplicity of the bouquet has served as a sweet reminder of the sweet life we held but for a moment. And the name "Grace" has served as a constant reminder of God's grace in all things and His goodness in all circumstances. It has been over three years since then, and the Lord has blessed us with another son; my husband has given me another mothering Willow Tree; and I still glance at my Lavender Grace and smile--sometimes through tears--but I still smile.

    Lavender Grace and Forget-me-not

Submitted by Kari C. Bach Fossdal in Larvik, Norway, January 2015

My dear and beloved husband, Jørgen, died from cancer in the summer of 2014. We had been married for 33 1/2 years and still loved each other deeply. It has been a tough time afterwards, getting through this time of mourning. Sometimes small things--gestures, words of comfort, visits from good friends or family, special gifts give meaning, hope and comfort. During these first months filled with sorrow, I have been given two Willow Tree pieces, that have touched my heart. First, my daughter-in-law gave me Lavender Grace and the words spoke to my heart: May all your senses be filled with healing Grace. Then a while later, my two daughters gave me the Forget-me-not piece with: Holding thoughts of you closely. Both the Words and the carved pieces are very special to me and they stand beside the picture of my dear Jørgen. I light a candle every day with this setting and it fills me with healing Grace from the good Lord and good memories of our time together, that I will never forget!

I got this beautiful figurine from my grandson for Christmas. There are so many reasons it is special. My wonderful 14 year grandson lives with me because his mom doesn't want him and his father has never really been in his life. This beautiful gentle boy has given me a gift of such love. I love him so much.

Today I received a gift of the Lavender Grace figurine from a very dear friend who purchased it while traveling out of state over Thanksgiving. Neither one of us had ever seen this Willow Tree figurine before. It touched me deeply. Our beloved daughter died 1 1/2 years ago suddenly and unexpectedly. Lavender was her favorite plant. Several years prior to her death she had managed a small aromatherapy shop and she was well versed in the use of fragrances, etc.. Recently her husband purchased a new home. The day he and their five young children moved into it he realized that there were five humongous lavender plants in the front yard. He had not realized this when he purchased the home. It is as if our daughter is still there with them reminding all five of those children and her husband that she watches over us. Thank you so much for this truly inspiring and memorable piece.

In the summer of 2012 my family spent a wonderful summer holiday week in Croatia, and while we were there we saw lots of lavender fields. Talk about beauty of the nature! Sadly, I forgot to buy myself any lavender-related souvenirs there, but, exactly one year after our holiday, I bought WT Lavender Grace for myself as a memento of that wonderful holiday trip!

This figurine holds a very special place in my home and in my heart. It has brought me comfort during my bereavement. The gift giver who was a co-worker is such a thoughtful and caring person. She was always there to help me through a bad day at work or whenever. Now that I have retired, I keep Lavender Grace in my son's office as I try to continue his business. As I glance at Lavender Grace during this work, I am gently reminded of the kindness and thoughtfulness of others which gives me strength and hope. I now have a new BFF who is on call 24/7! Glenna, thank you so much for everything. And Susan, thank you for your creation of Lavender Grace - purple is my favorite color!

    Lavender Grace

Submitted by Jan in Cypress, TX, January 2013

I received my first WillowTree piece from my Mom, this Christmas. It's been a difficult year for my family because my niece, Amy, passed away on Easter Sunday from Cystic Fibrosis. Amy was only 22 years young. Amy loved lavender and always wanted her home to smell of lavender because then whenever anyone smelled it they would remember her and that they were loved very much. She scented everything with lavender. We have a wonderful lavender farm about 70 miles away and I was lucky enough to discover it before it was opened to the public. The people who own it were incredible to my family when I called them the Monday after Easter Sunday and shared with them about Amy's passing. I asked them if they had any lavender and explained what lavender meant to Amy. They told me to just stop by whenever I could manage it - that they would be in the fields. They had me call them when I got close. When I arrived, they had bundles of fresh lavender that they had picked for me to put in Amy's casket so she would be surrounded by the scent of lavender and love! There was enough lavender for a very large bouquet and then my Mom and I wrapped small bundles of three or four pieces in purple ribbon (purple is the CF awareness color) to hand out to family members at the celebration/service for Amy. We handed out over 100 small "reminders of Amy's love" at her service. I was fortunate enough to receive a lavender candle from Amy's home and I light it whenever I need to be surrounded by her loving arms and reminded that she's no longer in pain, but is rejoicing with perfect health in our Father's Home. That is my story about why the Lavender Grace piece was such a special gift to receive this Christmas--it's yet another reminder that my niece was a wonderful, loving person who fought with every breathe she had, to live each moment to its fullest. It couldn't be a more perfect choice for my first WillowTree piece!

Your Stories We visited our daughter in Kelowna BC for my birthday and wedding anniversary. We went for a visit to the "lavender farm." It was enjoyable, but the lavender was not in bloom. We went on to Summerland and went into a local shop. There was a Willow Tree figurine holding some purple flowers. I exclaimed with great delight to my husband "is she holding lavender?" He went to ask the cashier. Yes, it was indeed lavender, and the name of figurine was "Lavender Grace", which just so happens to be my name. What a great birthday and anniversary gift--a real treasure. When I opened the box, there was a message on a small square piece of paper that read "I hope this piece has personal meaning just for you...a little reminder...a reflection...a gesture that marks a memory. I think that this gift from my husband, bought in BC is the best gift I have ever received with the most meaning on that tag. I have bought and received several figurines, but have never seen this small piece of paper with a message on it. That message just made the tears roll down my face, and I will always treasure the figurine and the message. Thank you Willow Tree for your unique gifts.

I just saw the new Lavender Grace item and couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the name. Six years ago we had our second daughter, and of course naming a child can be quite the task. However, as my wife and I were brainstorming, I said, "How about Lavender Grace?" I was only half serious at the time, but my wife loved it and that is the name we held on to. Now, six years later, our Lavender Grace is more beautiful than a lavender field. We always call her by both first and middle name because we think the name is so beautiful, and to see that that name is now a Willow Tree item is incredible! It is such a unique name. We always buy our daughter items that are lavender in color so she can always wear lavender. This is an item we will have to get.

My dear friend Judy gave me one of your angels when my mom passed away and the loving hands were folded across her chest exactly how we found mom when she passed. Judy had no idea but I know who did! Today I went angel shopping for a friend who lost her grandmother and found your new lavender angel and bought it for me because one of my fondest memories is of being with my mom and sister in Young Living's Lavender field in Mona, Utah during peak season. The aroma and the beauty of His creation was awesome! Thank you for this beautiful piece that I will cherish!!!
