From each other, over the years, we gather strength, through laughter and tears.

"I have two sisters—as far back as I can remember, the three of us have always been very connected. Even if they are far away, I feel like they're always right here, by my side.

"It's the little, fun, silly moments—thousands of them—that fill me up when I'm with my female friends, be they sisters, girlfriends, cousins... Shared experiences and laughter form a lifelong reservoir of trust that allows us to be vulnerable around each other. And out of vulnerability comes strength. I know I can count on my sisters and girlfriends whenever I need support... or a good dose of humor."

I have five children: two daughters and three boys. My daughters and I have many traditions and many favourite moments. We do a lot together. We read the same books and enjoy the same movies, etc. I am so very fortunate to be their mother. This figurine represents us three. It is beautiful and displays beautifully our deepest connection and love.

"By my Side" is my favorite piece with a special meaning. I have collected a few pieces over the years and given a few pieces over the years. I have two very special best friends that have been in my life for 56 years. Their names are Mary and Sue. About four years ago we were celebrating Mary's birthday and I bought the piece " Heart and Soul" which displays two people talking and appears to be sharing their "souls" for her gift. As soon as she opened it my other friend, Sue, says where am I at? She was right. Where was she at? Of course a couple months later I bought her the same piece and 11 days later she bought me the same piece. So it went that we all had the "Heart and Soul" and we always think of each other and how long we have been friends. I began to think and look at the entire collection and could not find a piece that reflected the three of us. Now it might be hard to believe but when I say friends but its so much more. All three of us have been there for our weddings, births of our children, deaths of our parents, birth of our grandchildren, 10 between us. We even married men with the same first name "Michael" and all had sons with the name "Michael" either first or middle name. WOW...sounds crazy. All the more reason that I wanted to find the perfect piece to have between us three. I wrote and asked Susan if she would ever consider or have plans for a piece with 3 people. Her sister wrote me back and told me she hoped her sister would do that in the future. So right at two years ago I received information that the piece " By my Side " was coming. It came out right after Christmas and my birthday is in January so when my birthday rolled around and us three went out to celebrate I gifted them with a surprise!!! " By my Side". I bought all three of us the same one.."from each other, over the years, We gather strength through laughter and tears". I cannot tell you the special meaning this has to our lives. It is displayed proudly in each of our homes in honor of the friendship we have and I am so forever grateful that Susan did this piece.

I have many special pieces, but the one that means the most is By my Side. A few years ago I lost my grandma who was my rock, she lived to be 95, very blessed. Then six months later very unexceptly I lost my Mom, who was my everything, talk about a melt down. But I was very blessed with a beautiful daughter and niece who never left my side, mine you they too were suffering. Together we made it through it. All three of us own this very meaning piece, and every time I pass by I always remember the love from my girls!!

I can always find a figurine that I can relate to and this one touched my heart. I have been collecting these figurines for 8 years now. Every time I get a new one it takes me back to a memory I cherish.

"By my side" I bought one of these for myself and one for my sister. They mean so much to us. There have always been three of us girls and now one of us is an angel. I am the oldest of three sisters. I will be turning 32 this year and my middle sister Elizabeth will be turning 30. Our baby sister will never get to see her 29th birthday. Joy was admitted to the ICU on Tuesday, March 15, 2016 and tested positive for flu and pneumonia. She wasn't able to breathe well on her own and was put on the ventilator. On Thursday, March 17 she was diagnosed with necrotizing pneumonia; she went into septic shock and into multi-organ failure. On Saturday, March 19 Joy stopped responding neurologically. On Tuesday, March 22 we made the decision to let her go peacefully. She was preceded in death by our dad who passed away suddenly at 51 just 5 weeks before. Joy was a stay-at-home mom with two small children (4 and 6 years old) and was an avid artist. This figurine helps to remind us that we are not alone and that we have a guardian angel watching over us. Rachel Walters Indiana

By My Side.... My husband and I raised 3 daughters. In 2000, the oldest was killed in an auto accident in Germany where my son in law was stationed. The girls were so very close aged 23, 20, and 19 at the time of her death. Since then, beginning with that 1st Christmas I have gifted the 2 younger ones with some ornament, Figurine, or other item depicting 3 girls. In 2015 my girls gifted me with By My Side for Mother's Day. I have numerous Willow Tree figurines, but that one is by far my favorite! I still tear up when I look at it! Thank you so much for creating it!

I got my first Willow Tree in 2006 from a coworker. I was leaving my first job and was just married. Over the years, I have collected different Willow Tree figurines that each are special in their own way. The Willow Tree that means the most to me is By Your Side. This past year was very difficult as it was the first year I was moving away from my sisters and family. My husband is in the military and I knew this day would eventually come, but that didn't make it any easier! My sisters mean the world to me and one is my twin. She knows me better than anyone in this world. She knows when something is wrong without me even saying a word. I have this piece right on my nightstand next to my bed. Its a reminder in the morning that although we don't live in the same city, we are always there for each other. My sisters give me strength and courage to get through my rough "missing home" days. But this piece also shows me the hope I should have. It reminds me of their laughter and the happy memories we have together. This piece will always have a special place in my heart.

My 2 best friends for the last 27 years are sisters. When we met, the three of us instantly became inseperable. Over the years, we've had weddings, and babies and made many, many beautiful memories together. Very recently one of the Sisters was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor, at 39, with 4 kids under the age of 16; this is a battle that we cannot win. As we pray, and cry and cheer the tiniest of victories, I am lost for words when trying to express my heartache at losing this beautiful light that has accepted me as one of her sisters. We haven't give up hope of a miracle yet, but this battle is out of our hands. This beautiful figurine has touched my heart, because this is a true example of the friendship that the three of us share, and that no matter what struggle has come our way, we have always had each other's back. And we always will. Thank you for this design, it will make me think of Elizabeth every time I see it and remember all of the joy and love that my two amazing friends have brought to my life.

I am the oldest of three sisters. This is a significant birthday year for two of us and we are within five years of each other. I turned 75 years young on January 3rd and my baby sister will be 70 on February 16, 2016. Our middle sister will be 74 in October. It is hard to believe, but in 2016 we will all be in our seventies. Since our father was born in Canada, we are all proud first generation Americans, coming from a wonderful, loving, close family. This closeness has remained our entire lives, even though we are all different in many ways. My sisters have remained my close friends. We are blessed to have each other. Two of us are breast cancer survivors and I am purchasing one for my "little" sister in Portland Oregon for her birthday in February and one for the "middle" sister for her birthday in October. "By my side" truly represents our relationship and closeness. I love it. Sylvia, Pinckney, Michigan

I purchased the "shine" figure and wanted the other three as a birthday gift. The Shine figure reminds me of her and her Christian life and sharing her and our belief in Jesus, makes me think of her reaching up to God as the three of us surround her. I was inspired with these four figures and know my friend will appreciate the significance. Thank you for the beautiful pieces!

I am going to purchase two of this piece...I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer almost five years ago and have faced a recurrence. During this journey of life, two people have been by my side and are always encouraging. I love them dearly. Both work at my doctor's office - his nurse and scheduler. The three of us have become such good friends and I am able to say that they are always by my side. They have joined ovarian cancer walks with me, we are friends on facebook, we do not just live and talk cancer - we talk life. We talk about our family and just life in general. They have been by my side every day since 2011 and without them this journey with cancer would have been much harder than it already is. This figurine reminds me of us - three friends that were brought together by something that should be horrible - but instead has shown me love, caring and understanding. These two women are like this with all of their patients - and this figurine, to be shows this. The color of ovarian cancer is teal and the blue in this runs to teal which makes this piece even more significant to me. I am buying two (I could not find two in stock at my local store) as soon as I can - one for each of my friends to always remind them of our friendship, even when I am not here anymore. I hope they will look at it and remember our wonderful friendship and my love for them. I have several pieces of Willow and have purchased many...none have has much meaning as this.

I am step-father to three sisters very close in age. All the years that I was dating their mother, I was always impressed by their closeness and support for each other. I married into this close-knit family 15 years ago and in the last two years have observed a drifting apart of these sisters as each has married and two have had children of their own. It is my thought that "By my side" will tug at their emotions and re-establish that bond that was their calling card. I've purchased three pieces, one for each, and know it will accomplish reconciliation that has evaded all other attempts. Thank you Willow Tree.

Over the last 8 years my two daughters and I take an annual trip to the Oregon beach for some relaxing girl time. We spend our three days eating in our favorite cafes, strolling on the beach, putting together Charles Wysocki jigsaw puzzles, catching up on the events of the last year and encouraging each other with the Word of God. We spend our time nurturing each other's heart. It has become the highlight of my summers. This year my eldest daughter gave me the 3-girl By My Side figurine and I was just overwhelmed with the beauty and the symbolic expression of what I felt for my precious daughters and this bonding time we share together. On Monday, June 16, 2014, my older sister, Alana Jenkins, went into a Dallas hospital to have a polyp removed from her uterus. It should have been a very simple procedure, but everything changed drastically when it was discovered that this was no polyp. Alana, 29 years young, had stage 4 cancer that had spread to her abdomen and liver. Her doctor performed a complete hysterectomy on Alana and was able to remove most of the abdominal tumors. Her liver still remained afflicted. For almost 8 months, she fought the terrible disease until Sunday afternoon, Feb. 1, 2015 Alana passed away. My oldest sister, Cheryl Boatner and I have always loved Willow Tree collections, and she came across "By My Side" and we fell in love! The blueish teal color (color of Ovarian cancer ribbon) with the three sisters standing side by side seemed almost too perfect. Since June 16th, we stood by Alana's side through the surgeries, the chemo, the pain, the sadness, the fear, the anger, and her last moments. Both Cheryl and I got the "By My Side" piece as a reminder of our strength together as sisters, a bond that can never be broken. I Was Blessed Today "With news like this, what can you do But pray to God to hold something true. Memories surround and their love outpours From those who’s friendship she so long adores. Out her window is just a day, an ordinary day As passersbys press on their merry way But in this room there’s something new Another young girl has a new teal ribbon tattoo. It’s just a day, another ordinary day Another dose of chemo without a moment delay. She sits by her window with longing in her heart To settle in remission and find a new fresh start With faith to move mountains and love a hug away She wrote these thankful words, “I was blessed today.” Cause to the outside world time moves on But to her, the night is always darkest before the morning dawn. It’s just a day, another ordinary day With loved ones gathered around to pray Out her window the sky shines the brightest blue But in this room there’s something new. She spread her wings like her Japanese cranes As God saved her from her mortal pain. Today we know it’s to Heaven she has gone Cause she sends her love to us with the hue of dawn."

When this piece debuted in January of this year, I showed a picture to my husband stating, "Sometime for some occasion, I would love to have this to remind me of my sisters." I have two beautiful, funny, caring and sometimes trying sisters. We all grew up in Iowa. Angela, Amy and Ann. Since no one could keep us apart we just became the "Girls". We have stuck by each other through school, dating, marriage, babies being born, miscarriages, divorce, and marriage again. I moved 365 miles away in 1993 and have always cherished the memories we have and now the time we have together is so precious when we visit each other. No matter what happens in our lives, we know we have each other, even if we don't realize it at the time. Sisters are friends God chooses for you. There isn't anything I wouldn't do for my family back home but especially for my sisters. I am so blessed to have them. On my 5th wedding Anniversary on June 12, 2015, my husband presented me with this beautiful gift as a reminder of how much I love and need my sisters and how much they love and need me. It helps to bring them closer to me on the days when I feel so far away.

As soon as my daughter Corrie and I saw this piece we knew it would hold a special spot in our home. By My Side: from each other, over the years, we gather strength through laughter and tears. This piece represents my three daughters Megan, Corrie and Kelsey who shared an amazing bond and continue to do so even in spirit. My youngest, Kelsey, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer at the age of 13 just 3 years ago. My daughters always shared a beautiful relationship and especially throughout Kelsey's battle with cancer. Through laughter and tears, to help lift Kelsey's spirits during her battle, the girls always found a way to make Kelsey laugh and even if just for a few moments, make her forget about the illness. After Kelsey passed, Megan and Corrie always searched for the perfect piece that depicted their amazing bond with their baby sister Kelsey, and have finally found it. By My Side perfectly captures the special bond held between sisters such as Megan, Corrie and Kelsey. Thank you WillowTree.

In July 2003 I found out I was pregnant. This came as a huge surprise but we were so very excited! At my 20 week ultrasound, we were in for a bigger surprise. I was carrying triplets. All of them were little girls! We were so thrilled! We already had 2 precious sons, and couldn't wait to bring these 3 little miracles into our family. My pregnancy progressed perfectly, until in late December 2003, when we were informed we had lost 1 of our babies, Caitlin. A week later, after some complications, I gave birth to all 3 little girls at 32 weeks gestation. But none of them survived due to umbilical cords being wrapped around them and knotted up. It was a devastating and heartbreaking loss. My triplet girls were born January 2, 2004, their names were Addison Brooklyn, and Caitlin. I have been looking for something to symbolize my sweet girls for years, and my mother-in-law found this piece and gave it to me for Mothers Day this year. They would be 11 years old, and I'm sure they would have been just as beautiful as these figurines, and the best of friends. Thank you for your beautiful work. This is a piece I will treasure forever.--Michelle-

In 2014 I turned 50,I had a serious car accident and then later found out I had a brain tumor not related to the accident but because of the accident this is how I found out. I felt the accident was a blessing in disguise. Thank the Lord. In August 2014 I went for brain surgery and through it my two sisters Tammy and Shelly have been with me every step of the way with strength, laughter and tears. Through this our bonds have become stronger and deeper, and a day does not pass without our saying I love you. I feel blessed every day because I survived and I have two amazing sisters. So in April 2015 I turned 51 and I decided I was going to celebrate that I was fortunate to turn 51. Then my sisters amazed me even more with the gift of " By my side". I was so overwhelmed with emotion. I love them so very much. "By my side" sits on my dresser so that every night I lay my head down I am reminded of how blessed and loved I am.

I knew immediately I had to have it, even before reading the caption. I have purchased many Willow Tree figurines over the years for gifts for family and friends and especially my daughter. I can always relate to the message or name of the piece, they are so heartfelt and meaningful, and are appropriate gifts for many of life's special occasions. This new piece speaks volumes to me. I purchased three when the shop assistant chased up other stores to source them for me. I actually have two sisters, and as soon as I saw it I had to have one for each of us. We have had some trials through our lives and have gotten through them by standing together side by side, holding each other strong, with much laughter and tears. We are grown women now with families of our own, but remain as close as ever and are there for each other no matter what. Our biggest challenge so far is about to start again, as the youngest of us at 42 years is about to start chemo for the 3rd time in 2 years for breast cancer. The outlook is not positive in the long run but she is the most amazing and inspirational person. She has such a great attitude and drive, and her strength and courage in the face of adversity helps us stay strong to support her through the bad days. So thank you for creating this piece, it is us in so many ways even down to the pose. Cheers Kym

I have two friends (really more) who are like sisters. These are two who I can call at any time day or night when I need them. When my son was killed in a car accident and we learned of his death at 2:00a.m. I did wait until 6:00a.m. to call them, but they were at my home almost as soon as I could hang up the phone. They never left me through the entire ordeal nor through the terrible days that followed. We have been able to laugh about many things that all our children have done over the years. In other words we have history with each other. We are the same as family even though we are not family in the legal sense of the word. This is the perfect Willow Tree piece. I only wish that I could afford to give each of them one. Who knows maybe I will be able to some day. Thank you Willow Tree.

This beautiful piece was given to me by my sister, signifying a special bond between us three sisters. We have become bonded, after sharing the loss recently of my mother to Alzheimer's Disease. It touched my heart, more deeply than I can say. I had never seen a Willow Tree piece of art before, and instantly fell in love with it. I will cherish it always. The figurines convey a special emotion which is meaningful to each person who is lucky enough to own a piece of the collection. The craftsmanship is absolutely beautiful. It brings tears to my eyes every time I look at it, and it will be lovingly placed in my home in a special area for all to see. Thank you my dear sister, and thank you Susan Lordi for sharing your talent.

Susan, thank you for creating such a beautiful Willow Tree piece. "Your story" for designing this piece is close to "My Story" for purchasing this for each of my two sisters. My sisters have been my Rock, Strength and Best Friends ever since I was a little girl. They always have "My Back" and take care of me...just as I do them. We have a bond and love for each other that is...Always and Forever! Sincerely, Jackie

Mrs.Lordi I want to thank you for this beautiful piece l loved it the moment I layed eyes on it. for me it represents a special bond with me and two sisters who recently lost my beloved father to als. Thank you again. I started collecting in 2013, and am very happy to be able to add this piece to my collection

Mrs. Lordi you've done it again! The new piece 'By My Side' which is to be released soon touched my soul! I work in the school system and have a close bond with the ladies I work with. We laugh & have fun together and we lift one another up during the difficult times. Each new year brings us closer together and I knew immediately after laying eyes on this piece, it is the perfect addition to my collection (collecting since 2001). You have my sincerest thanks for crafting unique pieces that speak to my heart in a way that only Willow Tree can. Blessings! Angie
