So loved, so very lovedAngel of Mine$35.00Description
“This piece is inspired by the memory of holding my children when they were really tiny … holding them so close that it involves all of your senses … the scent of the fuzzy head against your cheek, the skin-to-skin warmth, the realization that you can love another being so very, very much. I wanted to capture that sensory memory that every mother has from when she held her newborn infant — an innermost quiet joy. The sentiment has a lullaby feel to it.”
Love and protect thee, foreverGuardian$35.00Description
“Guardian represents the overwhelming feelings of motherhood, and the desire to protect your new baby forever. The image of an infant cradled closely in her mother’s arms is a symbol of the tremendous feelings of love a mother experiences when holding her new child. This figure could suggest a guardian spirit of protection. She could also be comforting to someone who has lost a child; a reminder of the love and caring a mother always feels, regardless of where her child is. I used the word ‘thee’ in the sentiment as an intimate way of talking to an infant. I think the word has a poetic sound and shows reverence and tenderness. It’s the sort of word reserved for someone you love..”
Now and for always, I carry you in my heartFor Always$40.00Description
"I wanted this pose to evoke a feeling of being completely in the present with your child—the weight, the scent, the feel... sharing with each other the silent vow that you will be there for always.
"The months of infancy are like none other, maybe because you feel the baby is still part of you... baby and mother still as one, nothing can come between. The essential promise that a mother makes to her child, to love and protect forevermore, is unconditional."
Treasuring a rare, quiet and tender moment of motherhoodTenderness$35.00Description
“I tried to capture a quiet moment in time, since they are so rare when you have a young child. At that age, about 18 months — they're their own little person — with a defined personality separate from your own. This is one rare and tender moment together — in sync with each other.”
Child of the world, Into my heart you came - Bringing sun into my life, Making family our name.Child of my Heart$35.00Description
“I wanted to do a piece that is influenced by the rich diversity in our culture — with multi-racial families, adoptive families and blended families. My sister Karen wrote the sentiment… it’s a love poem to a child."

“I remember when we brought our first-born home, and walked into our house. I had an overwhelming sense of fulfillment — it seemed like our whole house was warm and full of light. When you bring a new baby home, all of a sudden you understand the excitement of being a family — this, now, is your family. It’s the start of something wonderful and new, and that, in and of itself, is a joyful gift.”

Sleep my child and peace... peace... Covered in love and keep... keep...The Quilt$35.00Description
“I was thinking about metaphors of quilts. A lot about protection. A quilt makes us feel safe and warm. The rows of even stitching showing the passing of time, a meditative rhythm — like quieting and rocking a child. It takes time and patience. I wanted the quilt and the rocking to be one. The sentiment reveals this rhythm also — lullabies don’t have to make literal sense ... but the cadence of the words is lyrical and soothing. The warmth and coziness of a sleeping child — the tender connection — these quiet memories exist in anyone who has ever rocked a child in their arms.”

A tree, a prayer
Submitted by Phyllis Bodine in Mt Zion, IL, October 2017
In Sept of 2016 I received A Tree, A Prayer from a dear friend after our great granddaughter, Addilynn Marie, was born sleeping. Such a sweet thoughtful gift, each time I look at the angel I am reminded of our precious angel baby. I love the detail of the leaves on the skirt of the gown. I have since bought Willow Tree for bereavement and also for births. Such a beautiful collection to choose from.Read More >

The Willow Tree infant blanket and mother and baby angels remind me that when Drew, Bill, Natalie and I were leaving the maternity area of the INOVA Alexandria Hospital in Virginia after seeing Allison and new baby Caroline for the first time, we were at the entrance/exit when we saw several of Susan's Willow Tree creations in a display case.Read More >
